The Doolittle Raid

This is for an assignment I had to do on the Doolittle Raid for the Institute of Documentary Filmmaking. I had to compose and present a Treatment for a possible documentary and these were the websites I used for the research.

Wikipedia Wikipedia is always a good starting point but not completely reliable.
The Official Website of The Doolittle Tokyo Raiders This is a great site. Has a lot of authentic materials - including stock footage, stills, actual letters, etc. A lot of contributions to this site come directly from Raiders or from their relatives. The site also has a great forum.
Naval History & Heritage - Doolittle Raid This site offers a brief summary of the raid but also has some great authentic stills.
The Washington Times Talks about the passing of Thomas Griffin - one of the last surviving members of the Doolittle Raid. Has a great video of the last five surviving Raiders sharing their experiences of the mission and the impact it had on the country.
Auburn Newspaper article on Killed POW Dean Hallmark Talks with Hallmarks fourth cousin. Recounts Hallmarks military career and talks about his death.
Dean Hallmarks Page Dean Hallmarks Page on the Official Doolittle Raider's Site.
Letters Home Before Execution These are letter home from the three killed POW's in the days prior to their executions. Some of the letters were written clearly under duress while others are extremely heartfelt and difficult to read.
Summary of the POW's of the Doolittle Raid This sums up all of the POW's that were captured as well as discusses the three that were executed.
Summary of the Raid This is a great overview of the Raid provided from the USS Hornet's webpages. The Hornet is the aircraft carrier the b-25's took off from.
Doolittle Tokyo Raiders Another great site devoted solely to the Raid. Great photos and in-depth information.
Quick Fact Sheet This a fact sheet provided by the National Museum of the US Air Force. It also has links to other great resources.
