A collection of web services that allow broadcasting and streaming of video and audio.
You can use CDNs such as PPLive, Amazon Cloudfront, and NetDNA
Common bit rate speeds are 20, 32, 64, and 128 kilobytes per second (kbps). 20 kbps is used for primarily for voice audio such as talk shows. 32 kbps is the standard bit rate for FM radio, working for music and higher quality talk broadcasts. 64 kbps delivers audio quality that is nearly on par with a CD or MP3. 128 kbps puts out an even higher quality broadcast. Remember that as the bit rate increases, bandwidth usage also increases.
The upload speed of your encoder should be at least 2 1/2 times that of the bit rate (data transferred per second) you broadcast at. You can stream at a speed that matches your computer, but it will cause buffering times.
Keep the capabilities of your audience's computers in mind. They would ideally have 1 1/2 times the download capacity than the bit rate of the stream.
